Call Of Duty Vanguard is a first-person shooter video game. This game is developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision.
The second Call Of Duty Vanguard beta weekend kicks off this morning following last week’s PlayStation pre-order beta. Here’s everything you need to know about the second weekend including start and end-times, download sizes, and how to get into the early release beta on PC and Xbox.

Download Size
Xbox players will need Xbox Live Gold for the closed beta portion. The beta ranges in download size by platform, anywhere from around 9GB to closer to 20GB.
Rewards
Anyone who participates in the beta this weekend and reaches Level 20 will receive:
- A Weapon Blueprint for Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone, available in Vanguard following the game’s launch on November 5, and in Warzone when the new main map launches later this year.
- An Arthur Kingsley Operator in Call of Duty: Mobile, available shortly after the end of the Beta.
Content: Maps, Modes And More
Players on all platforms will play on the same maps and modes and cross-play will be enabled. There are four maps, all of which I detail in my impressions post here. These range in size from the truly way-too-big-for-Call Of Duty map, Red Star, to the much tighter Eagle’s Nest.
There’s also the new Patrol mode, which is like a mobile Hardpoint, which you can see in action in the video below:
MAPS
- Champion Hill (4 small maps)
- Hotel Royal
- Gavutu
- Red Star
- Eagle’s Nest
MODES
- Champion Hill (Solos, Duos, Trios)
- Team Deathmatch
- Domination
- Kill Confirmed
- Patrol
- Search and Destroy
OPERATORS (Each will have 1 finishing move)
- Daniel Take Yatsu
- Roland Zeimet
- Lucas Riggs
- Polina Petrova
- Wade Jackson
- Arthur Kingsley
There will also be the new “Combat Pacing” system which is really just about the size of lobbies:
- Tactical = 6v6
- Assault = 10v10 – 14v14
- Blitz = up to 24v24
Obviously, the higher the player count the more chaotic the conflicts. In a small map, 24v24 will make things pretty nuts—but in bigger maps, you kind of need large player counts for it to make sense—which is actually one of my biggest gripes with the game.
Let’s discussed on The Call Of Duty Vanguard game
The Call Of Duty Vanguard game has the trappings of a WWII game but still doesn’t really feel like one the way that Sledgehammer’s previous title, Call Of Duty: WWII, felt.
It’s also missing that game’s best mode: War Mode, one of the best modes in any COD game ever. The game’s Champion Hill mode, which you can also try this weekend, is nowhere near as good as Gunfight, either, so that’s pretty disappointing.
On the other hand, we’re only trying out a small portion of Vanguard’s 16 multiplayer maps this weekend and we know from experience that COD games release a little rough typically and see lots of improvements over the next couple of months.
That will almost certainly be the case here, though I’m not at all convinced I’ll be dropping Black Ops Cold War in favor of this one given how much I play Gunfight and League.
War Mode would have convinced me in a heartbeat but alas, the powers that be didn’t realize what a gem of a mode they had on their hands. Oh well.
The game itself launches on November 5th on PC, PS4/PS5, Xbox Series X\S, and Xbox One. Still no COD for Switch I guess.
