While it might be hard for some players to believe, Season 12 of Apex Legends is already winding down, and many fans have already set their sights on Season 13. Promising a new Legend named Newcastle and an update to the Storm Point map, there seem to be good reasons for fans to be excited for what lies ahead for the battle royale. However, that does not mean that all gamers have stopped discovering new secrets in the current season, such as one requiring Valkyrie.

Valkyrie was introduced to Apex Legends in Season 9, and she has become one of the more popular characters in the game due to her powerful kit based around flight. She can use her VTOL Jets to easily gain the high ground, and her Skyward Dive Ultimate lets her reposition around the map. Recently, one player discovered an unusual secret that could only be reached using the aerial abilities of this Legend.
In a video on YouTube, a content creator known as Dirty Skirty uncovered a hidden cave system beneath Kings Canyon. According to the YouTuber, they found out about the caverns after getting bored and deciding to look around the map using a Crypto Drone. After discovering the area, they dubbed it the “Secret Valk Cave” since the location could only be accessed by Valkyrie.
For those interested in checking out this cave system, Dirty Skirty revealed the steps required to enter the underground passage. According to the content creator, the first thing players need to do is fly off the map near the Repulsor POI. Valkyrie players can accomplish this either when exiting the dropship at the start of a match or by using their Skyward Dive Ultimate near this location. After doing this, they must land next to the hole in the side of the map seen in Dirty Skirty’s YouTube video.
Once this is done, players need to drop through the hole and then use Valkyrie’s VTOL Jets to fly up to a nearby ledge. It is then a matter of players weaving their way through a number of small gaps between the rocks until they make it to the opening of the cave. While the textures are glitchy as Respawn likely did not anticipate players reaching this area, it is still an interesting sight to see.
Time will tell how many Apex Legends players check out this hole in the side of the Kings Canyon map and the connected underground cave system. It is worth mentioning that Dirty Skirty claimed that the cave system would likely be of little use in Ranked play as it would be difficult to discover enough ledges to make it to the various safe zones during a match. Nevertheless, this spot could be worth investigating for some adventurous players.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A mobile version is available in some regions.
